A BRIEF HISTORY
The school building housing the students of the Vide Bouteille Secondary School is by no means an entirely new structure. Originally, the structure housed the students of the Vide Bouteille Primary School.
This school was phased out by the Ministry of Education and the structure was partly renovated in 1989 in preparation for the opening of the Vide Bouteille Secondary School in September of 1989.
On the opening of school 214 students were admitted consisting of five form one classes – sourced from Common Entrance Examination and three Form-three classes sourced from the Common Middle Examination. Presently the school houses close to 600 students from Forms 1 to 5.
In September 2019 the school was officially renamed Patricia D. James Secondary School after its first principal, the late Patricia D. James. Accompanied by this change was a change in student uniforms, school crest and school anthem.
